The Home runs on generosity

St. Lawrence Home of Hope has no fixed source of funding. Meals, staff salaries, school fees, medical care, family tracing journeys, maintenance and other everyday costs are all made possible by donors, parishes and partners. Below are the ways people choose to help.

Bank transfer

If you would like to support Home of Hope by bank transfer, please contact us first and we will provide you with the appropriate banking details and instructions.

Ways to help

General donation

Unrestricted support is the most useful of all: it covers whatever is most urgent that month, from medicines to transport for a family tracing trip.

School support

Fees, uniforms, shoes, books and examination costs for boys in primary school, secondary school, boarding school or skills training.

Food and nutrition

Maize meal, beans, cooking oil, vegetables and kitchen fuel for around 100 boys, every day of the year.

Clothing and bedding

Mattresses, blankets, bed sheets, mosquito nets, clothing, shoes and hygiene supplies for the dormitories.

Infrastructure

Repairs and improvements to dormitories, classrooms, the kitchen, water supply, sanitation and the playing field.

Sponsorship & long-term support

A regular monthly or annual commitment lets us plan ahead — especially for older boys continuing their education over several years.

In-kind support

Food, school materials, sports equipment, tools, bedding or professional services. Please contact us first so that gifts match real needs.

Receipts and accountability

Official donation statements and receipts are issued where applicable, and we are glad to confirm how a particular gift was used. Donors and partners who support a specific area — school fees, food, infrastructure — can request a short report.

Talk to us before you give

If you are planning a larger gift, a sponsorship, an in-kind delivery or a partnership, please get in touch first so we can match it to what the boys actually need.
